To mark the official opening of GITANO NYC at the South Street Seaport, we threw a party that was nothing short of iconic. A full-sensory experience filled with fierce fashion, unforgettable performances, and our signature jungle glamour, the night was a love letter to New York—and a bold debut for our newest home.
A LEGENDARY WELCOME
As the sun set over the East River and our guests arrived beneath glowing neon and swaying palms, it was clear this was going to be a moment. Friends of GITANO—New York legends, style icons, and IT kids —arrived dressed to slay in lush jungle-inspired looks. The space pulsed with tropical energy as cocktails flowed, and DJs set the tone for a night that would be talked about for weeks.
FKA TWIGS IN THE SPOTLIGHT
The highlight of the night? A breathtaking, intimate performance by none other than FKA twigs. Making her first U.S. appearance in months, the British icon took the stage in a silver, sculptural gown, delivering a stripped-back, soul-stirring rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” that brought tears, chills, and a standing ovation. It was sublime. It was cinematic. It was pure GITANO.
Twigs wasn’t alone in stealing the spotlight—she was joined by the always-iconic Chloë Sevigny, Luann de Lesseps, Adam Lambert, and many more who lit up the room with their presence and energy.
ENTER THE CABARET
Performance from Violet Chachki
The debut of GITANO Cabaret added a dose of high glamour and fire to the night, quite literally. The electrifying Violet Chachki served up a sultry, high-drama performance that had the crowd gasping. From sequins to sparks, the cabaret transported us to another era—equal parts Studio 54 and Tulum jungle.
MUSIC THAT MOVED US
As the night deepened, the beat went on—Amber Valentine, VERSA, and Tom&Collins kept the dancefloor alive with flawless sets.
